Facilities and Activities
Hostel:
The Campus provides hostel facilities. At present there are 4 boys hostels(M.S Swamithan,CV Raman,Valley View Hostel,
Pauna Hostel) and 4 girls hostels(Prinula Hostel,Shilloi Hostel,Lady Bird,Chathe Hostel).
Library
The library is well established in a two-storied library building with a plinth area of about 10,000 sq.ft.,
funded by the UGC. It is well furnished having all modern features and facilities such as internet access,
Wi-Fi, Air Conditioners, CCTVs and RFID based security system for overall management of the library.
ICT tools, furniture and fixtures, de-humidifiers, fire extinguishers, drinking water facilities,
conference hall with LCD Projectors, Video Conferencing, PA systems with a sitting capacity of 50 persons are now
installed within the library. The library is automated using SOUL 2.0. Book issue and return using RFID based
Library Readers Card is done through the KIOSK and SOUL. There are a number of high end computers providing
high band width Internet connectivity through OFC from BSNL. Students, Teachers, Research Scholars have access to
CABI abstracts, Indiastat, E-Shodhsindhu, J-gate, e-books, e-journals and other online resources.
The library has grown through the years with regard to its collection and hold a unique place of learning in the campus.
It possess rich collections on Agriculture and Allied subjects including textbooks, reference books, bound journals,
theses,and other reading materials. Sufficient reading spaces are provided within the library building for comfort of
the readers. Library Orientation is imparted to the students at the time of joining the institution to help them get
knowledge on the different section/components of the library and other facilities available in the library. Keeping
in mind the digitization of the library, scanning of the Ph.D and M.Sc (Ag) thesis and dissertations have started and
in under completion to make it available online for all Research Scholars for easy access. The library also extends
facilities like photocopying, thesis printing, spiral binding, scanning, CD writing, software updating and downloading
for students, teachers and staff on payment of nominal rates.
Internet Facility:
The Library is connected with 300 Mbps shared NKN internet connectivity which is linked to the Nagaland University Headquarters at
Lumami.Work in ongoing to provide Wi-Fi connectivity to all Departments and Hostels via the MHRD Wi-Fi project.
Campus Magazine:
The Students' Union publishes campus magazine regularly to encourage creativity of the students.
Facilities for Table Tennis, Carom, Football, Cricket, Badminton, Chess, etc. are available for students residing in the hostels. A Gymnasium located near the boys hostel is also available for use by employees and students.
